DRIVE simulates the behavior of cars during acceleration along their longitudinal axis of symmetry. The coupled dynamics of sprung and unsprung masses are obtained by calculating vehicle vertical motion and pitch. The driveline is carefully modeled from the clutch to the tires, including the spring drive and gearbox. Tire performances are expressed by a nonlinear slip-force diagram, allowing for the correct calculation of traction forces, including those with high slip ratios. |
